The actual numbers 1, 17 and 126 are not important. Knowing your liking for clues think - Hardware Shops

Damn I was leaning towards a plant

1 fully grown £1.50
some small ones in a tray £3.00
and seeds 126 in a bag £4.50

OK Phil, I'll put you out of your misery.

It's hous numbers and they cost £1.50 each.
There fore if you live at no.1 you buy one number @£1.50.
If you live at No 17 you have to buy a 1 and a 7 totalling £3.00
etc etc
